Biography

Birth parents and actual last name are unknown. Said to have been kidnapped by indians as a young child, but later found and unable to remember her last name. Adopted by the Silvers family.

Rosa (Unknown) Burnett was a Kentuckian.

Rosa, last name at birth unknown, was born about 1745, the date an estimate based on the birth dates of her husband and son. Rosa married Jeremiah Burnett before 1782. According to genealogist June Bork:

Jeremiah married second about 1781 to a girl named Rosa, who was captured by the Indians when she was very small. Later, after she was rescued, she could only tell her name was Rosa. The Silvers family adopted her and she went by the name of Rosa Silvers. Rosa had 4 more children for Jeremiah and died after 1795 in Henry County:

    1. Isaac Burnett (1782-1854); married Nancy Hurt
    2. Ursula Burnett (1789-1870+); married James Hurt
    3. Martha Burnett (1790-bef 1850); married William Denney
    4. James Peter Burnett (1795-1873); married Malinda Maupin.[1]

Genealogist Ray Blevins disagrees about Rosa's identity:

Jeremiah's second wife was named Rosa (last name not known as she had been captured by the Indians as a child and later rescued). Some researchers have confused her with Rosanna Silvers, who married Emanuel Sandusky, Sr.[2]

Silvers-225 and Silvers-125 appear to represent the same person because: clear duplicate

Logically speaking and under strictest interpretation of the rule, Phillip, I agree, but in this case I thought it more appropriate to designate her with the maiden name of Silver, taken from her adoptive parents and for which she was likely better known. I decided to do it this way rather than lessen her identity as one of the over one quarter million "UNKNOWN" as a last name in WikiTree. Further, I entered the note of explanation under the Biography section. Please, any other WikiTree members, feel free to comment on this; I'll change it if most agree that it would be most appropriate.

As stated in her Bio, Parents and LNAB are unknown. Therefore, shouldn't her LNAB be changed to "Unknown" and Silvers set as an AKA?
