Biography

2nd of 5 children, last to migrate to the US. Came to the US in 1915, initially in the Bronx and finally in Chicago, IL.

Signed up for the military in 1917 with his brother, Julius, and was discharged in April of 1918.

Started a bakery with his brother, Jack.

Announced engagement to Helen Balkany in Chicago Tribune on 6 Jun 1926. They married on 31 Oct 1926.[1]
