Biography

The founder of the family removals business which prospered to the extent that by his death in 1878, he owned considerable amounts of property in the Chelsea area and in Croydon. Mentioned in passing by Thomas Carlyle although his brother John gets a more detailed write-up.

Any researcher into the name will need to be aware that the spelling of Silvester/Sylvester is almost entirely random, ad hoc changes occurring well into the 20th century.
