At the Carlton Court on Monday, before Messers.

Hayden and Hardy, J.P.'s, Thomas William Silvey, milk vendor, of 276 Drummond-street, was prose- ted under the Pure Foods Act for having sold milk which did not comply with the standard.

Mr. W. J. Freeman appeared for the prosecution. William H. Cloves, an inspector under the Board of Health, stated: - On April 11 I purchased a sample of milk for the defendant. I handed a portion of milk to the analyst. George W. Watson, deputy Government analyst, stated:

Defendant stated: - I did not interfere with the milk in any way. I sold it just as I received it.
