Obituary
James W. Simmons JANUARY 1, 1947 – AUGUST 29, 2021 James W. Simmons, age 74, of Northport, Alabama passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6-8pm at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 2pm at Lifepointe Church of God, with Rev. Ken Andrews, Rev. Tony Mahathy and Rev. Jeremy Donald Officiating. Burial will immediately follow from Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial provider is handling arrangements. James W. Simmons left us, to spend eternity with his Lord and countless other family members and loved ones. Never again to be bothered by health issues, suffering or pain, he is now walks on streets of gold. He is preceded in death by his wife Delores Simmons and parents: Willie Jack and Irene Simmons of Northport, Alabama Mr. Simmons is survived by his son: Patrick Simmons (Heather) of Gordo, AL, brothers: Robert Simmons (Faye), Tuscaloosa, AL; Harry Simmons (Brenda), Meridian, Mississippi; Bill Simmons (Monica), Houston,TX and three grandchildren: Madelyn Simmons, Luke Simmons and Brooklyn Simmons. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be: Tommy Clanton, Terry Cook, Clifford Shults, Ralph Shults, Ricky Lancaster, Martin Lowe The family wishes to recognize: Justin & Misty Estes, Lifepointe Church of God and DCH hospital as Honorary Pallbearers.
