George was born about 1859 in Southwark, Surrey the son of Henry Thomas Simmons (1835 - ) and Sarah (Brownnutt) Simmons (1840 - 1872) based on the details in the 1861 Census.[1]
1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 George was living at 31 Gun Street, Southwark with his parents Henry Simmons and Sarah Brownnutt, and his sister Sarah.[1]
