Mabel (Simmons) Hilliard was born in South Carolina.
Mabel was born in 1894. She was the daughter of Robert Simmons and Margaret Crouch. She attended WInthrop College and worked as a clerk in the Florence Post office until her marriage on July 16, 1922. She married Thomas Rogers Hilliard who at the time was an employee of the Atlantic Coastline Railroad Line. They had three children together. She passed away on September 22, 1972. [1]
