Biography

William Sims was born October 11, 1748 at Lebanon to George Sims and Temperance Damon.[1]

His father died in 1752, and his mother remarried in 1753.

In his 1759 will, William's grandfather John left to William and his brother George all his lands in Lebanon when they came of age, provided they each pay Sarah when she comes of age £5.[2]

On March 22, 1774, by order of court his father's land was distributed by William Sims, Israel Woodward, and Simon Clark to him and his two siblings. William received 77.5 acres and 25 rods of land, George received 63.5 acres of land, and Sarah received 8.5 acres and 23 rods of land.[3] On March 24, William and George signed that they were fully contented with the distribution of land.[3]
