Sarah Simms was born September 12, 1789, in Plymouth, Argyle, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of Robert Symes/Sims/Simms & Mary Rosanna Rapp. Sarah married Joshua Jotham, a son of Seth Johnson and Hannah Pratt. Jotham died March 5, 1877, in Plymouth, Argyle, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia Province, Canada, at the age of 81 years and is buried in the Plymouth Cemetery, in Yarmouth County. Sarah survived her husband and died December 9, 1882, at the age of 93 years, and is buried with her her husband. [1]
Her sister Mary Simms married her brother-in-law Josiah Johnson. Her son Wentworth Johnson married Elizabeth Purdy the sister of John Purdy who married her daughter Sarah Johnson. Her grandson Alonzo Johnson the son of her daughter Elizabeth Purdy, married Alice Simms the daughter of James Simms and Mary Randall.
