August Simon and family arrived in New Orleans, LA, from Germany on 29 June 1855, on the ship 'Colchis'. In 1860 he was a tavern keeper in Buffalo Twp., Buffalo Co., WI. In 1862, he purchased land in Buffalo Co., and in 1880 he was a day laborer living in Fountain City, Buffalo Co., WI. He is buried in the Fountain City Catholic Cemetery.
