Eugene Simon was born about January, 1838 in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, United States, a son of Charles Simon (1809–>1881) and Perosine Leger (1816–1880).^[1]

They already had three children when Eugene (32) married Arsenne Abshire (30) (born about July 24, 1839 in Lafayette; daughter of Theophile Abshire and Adelaide (Stelly) Abshire) on February 26, 1870 in Lafayette, Louisiana.^[1]
