Biography

Simon Simoneau [Simoneaux] was christened 17 May 1886 at the Catholic Church in Carencro, Louisiana.[1] In 1900, Simon was age 13 living in Ward 6 of Lafayette Parish with his parents Arvillien and Florencia Babineaux.[2]
On September 12, 1918, Simon Simoneaux reported to the draft board in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish to register for the draft as men were required to do at that time. He stated he was native born, white and born on 17 May 1886. He was living in Sun Set, Louisiana. He further stated that he was working as a farmer for Frank Broussard in Lafayette, and said his next of kin was Esther Lezier Simoneaux of Sun Set, Louisiana. The clerk described Simon as tall and slender with blue eyes and black hair.[3]
He married Esther Leger or Lezier. [4] [5]
Simon Simoneaux died in St. Landry Parish on February 26, 1923.[6]

So I found a page that has my dna fro my 23 and me account. For some reason it connects me to my grandfathers uncle arlien instead of simon as my great grandfather. This may just be a mistake I'll check into it as soon as I get to my grandmas and look at some paper work. However from there is takes the simoneaux on this page back to the 1500's. As soon as i get a weekend I'll make sure if it was simon or arlien that is my great grandfather. But anyway I'll post the link which dna links me to the simoneauxs family tree as soon as I get a free weekend. This tree is very extended of what I was able to come across.
