Homer was born in 1897. He passed away in 1967.

Homer Leslie Simpson, 69 died at 1:10 am Thurs, 9 Feb [1967] at the Jane Todd Memorial Hospital in Grensburg, KY. He was born in Green Co. 1 Oct 1897 and was a farmer in the Thurlow Community. Mr. Simpson was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Lillie Florence Bloyd, 14 Dec 1914 and she preceded him in death.

Surviving are 2 daughters: Mrs. Eugene Tucker, Greensburg; Mrs. Rollin Neagles, Edmonton, 5 sons: Richard Simpson, Indianapolis; Odgen, Gearon, Billy and Homer Simpson all of Greensburg. On 22 Dec 1956 he united in marriage to Mrs. Lurlia Irvin, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sisters: Mrs. John Lobb, Mrs. Omer Akin and Mrs. Eula Caven all of Greensburg; 1 half-sister: Mrs Nora Judd, Greensburg; 4 half-brothers: Arthur Simpson, Glasgow; Burbee Simpson, Laketon, Ind; Rev. Ural Tobe Simpson, and Damon Simpson, both of Greensburg; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church at 10 am Sat. 11 Feb with burial in the Oak Grove Cem. Rev. Burk Smith, Rev. Carlow Cooper and Rev. Terry Bishop officiated. Pallbearers were Stanley Simpson, Dennis Simpson, Boyce Simpson, Earnie Simpson, Larry Simpson, and Dorcy Simpson.
