Letitia May Simpson (married name Hotton) was born in 1828, the daughter of Mary Needham and Frederick Simpson.^{[citation needed]}

She married Peter Hotton on 4 July 1852 at St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands.^[1]

Letitia came to Austraia with her husband and infant son Peter, in 1854 on the "Evening Star".^[2]
