John H Simpson was born on the 7th of December 1875[1][2] in Bevier, Missouri[2] to Avington Simpson[2] and Sarah Posey[2].

He died on the 24th of August 1951[1][2] and would be buried in the Enid Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma[7]

Rural Mail Carrier Here Nearly Twenty Years
Funeral Services for John H. Simpson, 75, Spanish-American war veteran and former resident here, were held at 3 pm MOnday in the Henniger-Allen chapel in Enid cemetery with the Enid V.F.W. firing squad in charge of graveside rites.
Simpson, who had been making his home in Cherokee, where he and Mrs. Simpson have operated a hotel the last several months, died Friday i Wichita Veterans hospital. He had been ill the last two months.
Mr. and Mrs. Simpson, both natives of Macon county, Missouri, homesteaded eight miles east of Laverne in 1906. Mr. Simspon spent 18 years of his life as a school teacher. He was rural mail carrier on Laverne route two from 1921 until he reitred on New Years Day 1941.
He and Mrs. Simpson moved to Enid soon after his retirement and that was their home until moving to Cherokee. They took seeral extensive motor trips over the United States, Mexico and Canada, being away weeks at a time during the last 15 years.
While living in Harper county simpson was actively engnaged in farming and livestock raising, in addition to carrying his daily route, driving into Laverne in the morning and returning to the farm after delivering his route and reporting back to the post office.
Survivors include his wife of the home, four daughters, Mrs. John Ciarlellli, Kansas City, Mrs. Paul Snell, Knasas City, Mrs. Lloyd McDaniel, Evansville, Ind, and Mrs. Fred Guider, Hot Springs, Ark.; two sons Victor J., Monroe, Ohio, and Wayne, Burrell, Calif.; seven grandchildrne; two brothers, J.R., Greybull, Wyo., and Walter L. Perkins, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Morris, Callao, Mo.
He joined the Air Force as part of Troop "F" 3rd Regiment of Calvary in the Spanish American War, enlisting on the 23rd of May 1898, discharged on the 24th of October 1898, Pension C-2444372[1]
