Biography

Moses was born on 26th July 1809 in Washington, County Durham, England, the son of Granger James Simpson and Mary Hay.[1]

Moses married the widow Esther (Wrightson) Simpson on 14th March 1840.[2] In the 1841 census Moses (age 30) and Esther were in Jarrow Row, Jarrow, Durham, England with their two young sons Grainger and Charles, and Esther's children from her first marriage, John and Jospeh Wilson.[3]
