There is much discrepancy regarding the date and place of birth and parentage of Elizabeth Patience Simpson. Although it is doubtful that she is the daughter of John Simpson and Ruth Whitson of Solebury Township, Bucks county, Pennsylvania, I have added the duplicates of this profile to this family to be able to collect them and compare their profiles for merging. Most sources estimate her birth sometime in the 1750's. FamilySearch.Org has this tree that gives her year of birth as late as 1764, and born in South Carolina, although this set of parents never lived there. ^[1]

Elizabeth Patience Simpson died March 6, 1816, in Bedford county, Tennessee. She was the wife of John Smith, born January 23, 1752 in Virginia, and the mother of nine children.
