1860 Census. J. P. Barnett was living with his spouse, Malinda, along with 10 children; Malinda's father, Thomas Simpson age 87 b. in Georgia; Malinda;s sister, Synthia (Cynthia) Simpson age 52 b. in TN; and Benjn Louis, age 63 born in Virginia (?). They were living in the 16th Dist of Madison, TN.[2]
