Biography
When Martha Jane Simpson was born on August 15, 1839, in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, her father, Robert, was 54 and her mother, Catharine, was 30. She married William George McCune in October 1860 in Pennsylvania. They had seven children in 14 years. She died on February 13, 1880, in Wheeling, West Virginia, at the age of 40.
