Biography

Joe H Sims was enumerated as son of the head of household at Tallapoosa and Waco Road along south RR, Tallapoosa, Haralson County, Georgia for the January 12, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1919 in Georgia and single as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head William B Sims, wife Ada A Sims, son Johney C Sims, daughter Jimilue Sims, daughter Elizabeth Sims and son Ward Sims.[1]

Joe H Sims was enumerated as son of the head of the household in 37 Lipham Street, Tallapoosa, Haralson County, Georgia for the April 23, United States Census, 1930. He was noted as born 1919 in Georgia and single as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head W Bernice Sims, wife Claudia Sims, son John C Sims, daughter Elizabeth Sims, son Ward Sims, son Boyce D Sims, daughter Evelyn Sims and daughter Martha Sims.[2]

On April 1, 1935, Joe H Simms lived in Tallapoosa, Haralson County, Georgia.[3]

Joe H Simms was enumerated as son of the head of household at Smeyard Road, Militia District 1069, Spalding County, Georgia for the April 26, United States Census, 1940. He was noted as born 1919 in Georgia and single. He was a loom cleaner (cotton mill) as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are head William B Simms, wife Claudia Simms, son Boyce D Simms and daughter Martha Simms.[3]

Joe Harmon Sims is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia, USA.[4]
