In the Court of Greenbrier County, August 1796, Sarah Howard, widow of Ignatius Howard, who was a solier under Captain Arbuckle in the state service and who died of smallpox on his return from the Point station in the year 1774, "remains a widow with three children to maintain." It was ordered that pension for her be continued.
