John Sims was born before 1750 in Belfast, Ireland.

Research Notes

John Sims, one of the brothers who finally settled in South Carolina. John Sims, the fourth brother of Pariss, settled in Henry County, Virginia; moving from there to South Carolina after the American Revolution. He had a son Augustine who enlisted in the Revolutionary Army from Henry County Va. in 1777 John Sims is said to have had several other children, including a son, James Sims, who was a soldier in the Revolution. After the war he is reputed to have moved to Lee County, Va., where he had a large family, several of whom moved from there to Texas.
