My great grandmother Jemison's mother
My 4 times great grandfather, Jean Simon Coupery, was a lawyer in Santo Domingo (Haiti) before the slave uprising. He, his wife, and daughter emigrated to New York area. They joined fellow French emigees, some who were sympathizers of Napoleon, where they traveled to Alabama to found the Vine and Olive Colony in the present-day area of Demopolis, AL. I have no date or birth for Jean Simon, nor any information regarding his wife, Aimee Coupery Stollenwerck, my 3 times greatgrandmother. I believe
