Nathan Simms was born in 1731, in New Kent county, Virginia, a son of Edward Simms.[citation needed]
Nathan enlisted in South Carolina, during the American Revolutionary War. He served in Colonel Anderson's Militia. [1] He also served a juror, in Abbeville District. Nathan is honored for both his military and civil service participation by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as Ancestor #A104050. Their records indicate that he was born circa 1733 and died after January 1, 1803.[2][3]
Nathan was twice married. After the death of his first wife, Agnes Sterling, he married the widow Mary (Downs) Bond, who survived him. Application for membership in the DAR have been made by his descendants of his son Leonard Sims, who married Rachel (?nee); George Sims, who married Fanny Sterling; Martin Sims, who married Anna Jane Howard, and Sterling (aka Starling) Sims, who married Sarah (?nee); and of his daughters, Amelia, who married Richard Griffin;

White's books are a combination of largely unsourced, though occasionally correct facts, and some complete inventions. False and fake data from these books have become widely reproduced on the internet in the last decade. White has also published Virginia Ball : Immigrant Family 1650, Washington, and Cathey Family: With 32 Immigrant Allied and Collateral Families which reproduce a lot of the same fake material and should be viewed with extreme suspicion. Please see Ben Buckner's analysis of Mr. White's forgery techniques.
Only additional sources I would add is South Carolina, Wills and Probates, 1670-1980 for Nathan Sims. 1790 & 1800 Census Records for Abbeville, SC. Nathan's will is dated 15 Dec 1802 and recorded 20 Jan 1803. Box 87-pack 2150) found at the SC Archives.
There seems to be a question for the last name of 1st wife Agnes, Bullock or Sterling and wife no 2. Mary (Downs).
Sims-5016 and Sims-3778 appear to represent the same person because: Not a terribly clear duplicate but file Sims-3778 is lacking in sources compared to Sims-5016 so thought I'd submit for review anywyas. They do have the same wife, though!
