THE marriage is being solemnised at the Malvern Methodist Church this afternoon of Miss Roxy Sims, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Sims, of South terrace, Adelaide, to Dr. Alfred Dudley Byrne, only son of Mr. A. N. Byrne, of Naldera street, Glandore, and of the late Mrs. Byrne.
The Rev. Bertram Wyllie, assisted by the Rev. R. Stanley, is officiating at the service.
The bride, who enters the church with her father, is gowned in a sapphire blue frock, with a bustle effect. Her hat of matching straw is of the tiotilted variety, trimmed with an ostrich feather. Her accessories are of palest blue and she carries a cluster of pink waterlilies.
The only bridesmaid, Miss Jean Gilmore, is gowned in dusky pink, with a bustle, and a tiny matching straw hat. Her accessories are pink, and she has a bouquet of small dahlias.
Dr. Ray Binns is best man.
After the service a reception will be held at the home of the bride's parents, and Mrs. Sims, who will receive the guests with her husband and the bridal party, will wear a black frock, made with a redingote effect and a French silk blouse, worn with a black hat. For travelling the bride has chosen a frock of pale grey, with a tucked bodice. Her boxy coat is navy blue, and she will wear a grey turban.
She passed away about 2004.
