William was baptised at St Nicholas, Marston, Oxfordshire on 7th April 1816.[1] He was the son of Robert Sims and Martha (Bleay) Sims. His father stated on the register that he was a farmer.
Marriage
William Sims and Ellen Higgins were married after banns on 8th February 1842 at St Paul's, Oxford, Oxfordshire. [2] They were bachelor and spinster and both living in Clarendon Street at the time of the marriage. William was of full age, working as a coal merchant and the son of Robert Sims who was a farmer. Ellen was a minor and the daughter of William Higgins who was a plasterer. They both signed their own names on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were George Higgins and Emma Wilson.[3]
They had somewhere between six and twelve children. They moved to Victoria, Australia before 1853.
Death
William died in 1868 at the age of 52 years.[4][5]
