Biography

James Sinclair was born 29 Jan 1874 at Nigg, the son of Hugh Sinclair and Jessie Cameron. In the 1881 census, James is living with his parents at Bothy Bridge in Banchory Devenick. James' mother Jessie Cameron died in 1890. In the 1891 census, James is living with his widowed father. His father Hugh remarried in 1891 to Jane/Ann Abel. When James' father died in 1908, James was living at 7 Elmbank Rd in Aberdeen. In the 1911 census, James is a boarder with the George Moir family, living at 7 Elmbank Rd.

On 12 Aug 1912, James, a 38 year old Tramway Car Conductor, married 32 year old Elizabeth Wood Thomson, a Domestic Servant. James was living at 7 (or 4?) Elmbank Rd in Aberdeen and Elizabeth at 2 Dunbar St. They married at 19 North Silver St in Aberdeen and witnesses were Jessie Thomson and James Beedie.

James died 25 Feb 1955 at the Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen. His usual residence was 120 Union Grove in Aberdeen. He had unresolved Lobar pneumonia and Broncho pneumonia. His daughter Jean, the death informant, was present when he died.
