He was M.P. for Caithness-shire, 1703-7 and was created a Baronet , as above, the sign manual, being dated at Windsor, 12 Oct. 1704, with rem. to heirs male for ever. He m. firstly Isabel, da. and coheir of Sir Archibald Muir, of Thornton, Ayr, Scotland - L. Provost of Edinburgh. He m. secondly Isobel, da. of John Lumsden, shipmaster, in Aberdeen, but by her had no male issue. He d. 28 Sep. 1742." [2]

Jean Sinclair m. Capt. Robert Campbell of Glenfalloch He gained the rank of Surgeon in the 39th Regiment. He died in 1794 at Guadeloupe, Caribbean Islands. [4]
