FREDERICK ERNEST SINDEN (Sinden-418)
PARENTS. Frederick William Sinden & Jane Ann (Engleby) Sinden
BIRTH. 1874, Smythesdale, Victoria, Australia
(Oct 1916). REPORTED WOUNDED.—Mr. J. W. Sinden, head-master of the Beechworth Higher Elementary School, whose only two brothers enlisted at the beginning of the war, and served through the Gallipoli dampaign, and since have been fighting in France, received advice from the Defence Department on Saturday last that the elder of the two, Sergeant F. E. Sinden, attached to the headquarters staff of the 16th Battalion, and who was among the last few to leave Gallipoli at the time of the evacuation, had been wounded during the recent operations on the Western front. The Defence authorities are unable at present to give any information regarding the nature of the wound nor as to what hospital the injured soldier is occupying. Strange to say, by the same post as the letter from the Defence Department, Mr. Sinden received a field service card from his brother stating that he was quite well.
