Birth

Emma was born about 1893. She is the daughter of Jim Sine and Ellen Homįnąka.

Name

The censuses give her Hocąk name as MahCooWinKah, which is for Mą́kŏwįga, "Making a Nest for a Resting Place", a personal name in the Bear Clan for the Fourth Daughter. (McKern)

Marriage and Children

On 16 September 1907, Emma married Sam (Carley) Blowsnake in Thurston County, Nebraska. (Mar. Rec.) They had the following children:

Blanch (b. 1920)
Jasper (b. 25 Apr 1921)
Michael (b. 1923)
Stella May (b. 20 July 1926)

Florence appears to have died before 1917.
