Never married. Letter by Luella (Burton) Hennigar that accompanies the Singer Bible at the East Hants Historical Museum: "Dan Singer's Bible was given to Jessie, his sister, but her name was not entered in the Bible until after she died and my mother put her death in it. Jessie was born March 11th 1852 and died March 13 1953. She lived in Lattie's Brook most of her life except for a few years when she went to United States with a Hennigar family to care for their invalid daughter. She returned to Lattie's Brook after the child died. Her house was a small bungalow on the hill above the store going west toward Five Mile River next to our home. Jessie never married so had no family of her own so she formed a bond with me. She was like an aunt to me and many other children in the area. Jessie was a small woman, about four foot ten and weighed about seventy-five pounds, but she had a heart of gold. She gave me the Bible when I was sixteen years; a short time before she died. Her house burned a few years later. The highway is now partly over the place where the house was."
