Singleton of Union in the County of Fulton and State of Illinois, of the age of 20 years and Miss Rachel Fielder of Indian Point in the County of Knox and State of Ills of the age of 20 years. Witness John S. Winter, Clerk of the County Court of Knox County this 10th day of December A.D. 1875. I, A.R. Lowder a Justice of the Peace hereby certify that Mr. William T. Singleton and Miss Rachel Fielder were united in Marriage by me, at St Augustine in the County of Knox and State of Illinois, on the 12 day of December A.D. 1875.

Buried in Shoop Cemetery (also known as Spenceville Cemetery) near Hanover. Spenceville is no longer a town. Used to be just a railroad stop. I went to Spenceville in June, 1978 and stopped at several farm houses to try to find the cemetery. It is located at the top of a small hill in the middle of an alfalfa field just half mile north of where Spenceville used to be. The cemetery is small just a few tombstones, has a fence around it. There was not a stone for William but he is listed in the Washington Co. Cemeteries Book as being buried there.

William died at about age 28 of tuberculosis according to family.

"He married Rachel Fielder about 1874 or before in Illinois. Rachel was born in Illinois, died in Hollenberg, Ks. William and Rachel moved to Hollenberg, Ks from Illinois about 1877. After William died, Rachel married William Dodson. William Dodson died in 1891 and is buried near W.T. Singleton. Rachel's third husband was Joshua Brazzle (father of her daughter-in-law Rhodabell Brazzle Singleton.) Rachel had a daughter, Maude Dodson who married Frank Brammer. William Dodson had an older son, John Dodson by his first marriage." -- info per Singleton Genealogy by William and Joanne Singleton.
