Singleton and his wife, Lucinda Byrne, came from Farquar [sic] county, Virginia, about the year 1807, and settled on Salt Lick near Salt Lick bridge, where they owned valuable land. Mrs. Singleton was a daughter of Uriah Byrne who was a captain in the Revolutionary army. Mrs. Singleton lived many yeas after the death of her husband, and died at the advanced age of ninety-eight... The chidren of John F. Singleton were... Wm. K..."
