Biography


Leona was born Dec 15,1898, and grew up on a farm in Shoal Creek Arkansas. On December 19, 1915 she married a local boy, Elmer McReynolds. The couple had 4 children who lived to adulthood and one child, Billy Jane, died when a toddler. Leona developed breast cancer and died in 1952 at the age of 53. Within three years her husband also died of cancer.

Leona was buried in Elizabeth Hall Cemetery, New Blaine, Logan County Arkansas with her husband, parents and grandchildren.

I am a granddaughter of Leona (Sisk) McReynolds. Am working on how to present my DNA results for my biological grandfather , Irving Farnam, since Elmer McReynolds was my non-biological grandfather, who reared my father and was always considered his father.
