Just a reminder that an online tree, such as one from Ancestry, is not a reliable source for a Pre-1700 profile. If you are planning to reference a tree it should be under Research Notes, using the format Ancestry Profile which will take you to the tree. From there you can do a tree search for the name (if not found) and substitute the found id (e.g., 1847466750). Then you can use the sources from the tree. (In the case of Anna there are no sources).
I have been doing genealogical research for 18 years now. I understand full well that a reference to someone's Tree does not make for anything more than a hint. I do not use trees from Ancestry.com or from Familysearch.org without some solid sources to back them up.
Do you have a specific incident that you are referring to in your comment?
Wüst-10 is not my entry. I just looked the family up at the Dorfsippenbuch Kappel am Rhein and made a few corrections. I then added the reference to my source. I trust the Dorfsippenbuch, and have used it many times over the years.
The references to the trees was posted by Brian Henry when he created the memorial.
Are we good?
Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources; find or merge duplicates; clean up GEDCOM or merged biographies; or interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!
How are things going? A couple of tips for you as you add to your tree. If you find a duplicate profile, and complete a merge, all the information from one merge is copied into the new combined profile. Please go in and edit the Biography section remove "duplicate" information.
If you don't have a last or first name, note the related information in the related profile's biography section until additional information is found rather than creating an unknown profile.
If you don't have a date or place of birth, at least try and estimate that information and note that it is an estimate in the Bio section.
And lastly, source as you go, because if you're like me, you won't remember where you found the info.
I am a mentor and here to help so let me know!

How to use Wikitree is a good place to start. It is a step-by-step-guide to WikiTree basics. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.
It is very important that no duplicate profiles are created in WikiTree. Please read this page for clues on avoiding profile duplication.
Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.
Steve, I would love to correspond with you. My email is [email address removed] I'm on ancestry.com now so I have more access to my info. If you would like to be added as a guest let me know. Sharon Denzien
Hi, Steve. You're confirmed now so you can start adding information. Thank you for volunteering to help grow our worldwide family tree.
Our Honor Code, G2G message forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.
VERY IMPORTANT:
The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.
Our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please try very hard not to add any duplicates to our shared tree.
I am a g-g-g grandson of Johann Evangelista Hofer (1778-1850). I have been researching family genealogy for 7 years and have information about J E Hofer, his ancestors and descendants.

There is further information on Pre-1700 Profiles. You might find the information for Germany Resources helpful.
