A previous version of this profile claimed, without source, that her birth location was North Carolina.
The 1850 and 1870 census records indicates she was born about 1824 or 1826 in Tennessee.[3],[4] The indexer (of the 1850 census) may have mis-read the second digit in her age.
The 1880 census also indicates a Tennessee birth location and adds that her parents were both born in North Carolina.[5]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:
I question her being the daughter of Edward "B" Sizemore-329. On several censuses, Sarah's birth place is listed as Tennessee, but there's no evidence that her purported father, Sizemore-329, was ever in Tennessee.
We have two ECAs supporting Sarah Perdew being the daughter of Edward Sizemore and Annie [Baldwin]. Both ECAs were submitted by her children. So I'm now convinced she was Edward's daughter, but I'm still disturbed by the discrepancy in her birth location.
Do we have anything that supports Edward B Sizemore being in Tennessee about 1822 when Sarah was born?
