Biography

That Richard was son of Ephraim with identified siblings is supported by the research of Joy King:

(by Joy King, June 2019)

He married Elizabeth Ann Forester.[citation needed]

The death record of their daughter Malinda (who married a Cooper) identifies her parents as Richard Sythmore and Bettie Ann Foster.[1]

In 1860, Richard (57), Elizabeth (55) and Malinda (12) Sizemore were enumerated in Northern Division, DeKalb, Alabama, United States[2]

Richard died in 1865 and was buried at Pea Ridge Cemetery in Henagar, DeKalb, Alabama, United States.[3]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Richard by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Richard:

It would be great to find and cite the original sources used by Joy King that are referenced in the narrative. They do appear to support Richard's family of origin (father and siblings).

What sources do we have that Richard went on to marry Elizabeth Ann Forrester and by her have the children currently attached here?

Y-chromosome DNA: familytreedna.com The descendants of Richard Sisemore of De Kalb Co AL, which is the ancestor of my Uncle William A. Sisemore-67, were tested for direct male to male dna. The results showed their earlest known male ancestor was not a White European, but was a Native American.

The haplogroup of Q-L569 and Q-L568 denote Native tribal ancestry.

The Whitetop Tribe is not federally recognised. The Sizemore family is included in this tribe. Many are descendants of George All Sizemore of Clay Co KY. Those descendants carry the same Y-DNA as my Uncle William A. Sisemore-67

Thank you Helen for the merge!

Sizemore-1491 is the same person at Sizemore-1219. I have initiated a merge, but nothing happened.

Sizemore-1219 and Sizemore-1491 appear to represent the same person because: Hello, I have been doing the Sizemore genealogy for 19 years. My family is directly descendant of Richard Sizemore 1800-1865. You have created a duplicate profile. These 2 profiles are the same person. Let's merge them and we can get everyone recorded. By the way, I have all the information on your Jackson Cooper. We can work together on this. Best regards, Lilly
