Charlie was the son of Jones Jackson Sizemore. A son of Charlie's completed yDNA testing through FamilyTreeDNA which showed haplotype I-M253 - not of Native American ancestry. The family lore of Cherokee ancestry is strong, however. Perhaps another ancestor of Dr. John "Gourd" Sizemore will test and publish the results. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Charlie:
