On 4 Dec 1916 the Skelly family lived in Belsize Road, Lisburn, Ireland when James enlisted into the British Army, the 10th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles

Corporal 6717 James Skelly was Killed in Action in the Western European Theatre, Death presumed 21st to 29th March 1918. [6]
