Biography

Thomas Skinner. An online genealogy gives information on Thomas. (110) Rev. Thomas Skinner was born April 6, 1712 and died October 10, 1762. He was a Pastor of the West Chester Church from 1740 to 1742. Thomas married twice, first on July 9, 1740, said to be Mary Newhall. They had two children: Thomas, born May 31, 1741; and Mary, born January 31, 1742. Thomas married second, Mary Thompson, on October 3, 1746. Their children were Alice, born September 3, 1747; Mehitable, born January 10, 1749; Thomas, born May 24, 1752 in Wilhamton, Massachusetts; Joseph, born May 24, 1752, Wilhampton; Benjamin, born June 11, 1754; Mehitable, born June 8, 1756; and Rachel, born December 21, 1758. Another source states that Thomas married Elizabeth Mudge on March 21, 1736. Elizabeth was the daughter of Ebenezer and Abigail (Skinner) Mudge. Thomas’ son, Thomas (born 1741) was a physician at Colchester, Dr. Thomas Skinner died on August 7, 1790 or 1796 at Colchester. (111) He married Jerusha Christophers on April 2, 1788. Thomas and Jerusha had four children: Maria Skinner, born January 14, 1789; Thomas Manwaring Skinner, born June 7, 1791; Mary Elizabeth Skinner, born March 23, 1794, died January 8, 1792, age 5; and George Christophers Skinner, born May 23, 1796. Thomas was born in 1712. He was the son of Thomas Skinner and Mehitable Durant. He passed away in 1762.
