George W. Skinner, 78, a former barber in Greensburg, died at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at the General hospital at Indianapolis. In failing health for the past two years, he had been seriously ill for a week. Mr. Skinner was the son of William and Caroline Piper Skinner and was born in Decatur county on January 20, 1873. For a number of years he resided at Greensburg, being employed as a barber in the shop of the late Allen Davis. In recent years he had resided at Indianapolis. The survivors are: One sister, Mrs. Ida Shaefer, of Indianapolis; a brother, William W. Skinner, of Greensburg; three half-sisters, Mrs. Daisy Thomas, of Milroy, Mrs. Mary Stanley, of New Point and Mrs. Sarah Starks, of Miami, Fla.; two half-brothers, John Keeley, of Indianapolis and Pleasant Keeley, of near Greensburg; three nieces, Mrs. Grace Brumback and Mrs. Helen Brattain, of Greensburg and Mrs. Mabel Romine, of New Castle. A brother preceded him in death. Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wenning and Porter funeral home. The Rev. Jack E. Jones, pastor of the Greensburg Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be made in South Park cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
