1814: Samuel Slack, son of Henry Slack a weaver of Toll Bar Street and Mary Slack, was baptized on 22 Jul 1814 at St Mary’s, the Parish Church of Stockport, by Samuel Slack officiating minister. NB This officiating ‘Samuel Slack’ presided over many other christenings too; and in 1830 was Rev Samuel Slack, MA headmaster of Bradford School.[1].
1832: Marriage solemnized in the parish of Cheadle, Cheshire in the year 1832 between Samuel Slack of this parish and Harriet Johnson of this parish by banns on 13 September 1832 by George Eaton, curate, with witnesses George Smith and John Bidings. No. 264[2].

22 October 1859: The will of Samuel Slack late of Heaton Norris in the county of Lancaster, potato dealer, deceased who died 23 September 1859 at Heaton Norris aforesaid was proved at Manchester by the oath of Harriet Slack of 53 Great Egerton street Heaton Norris aforesaid widow, the relic and the sole executrix[5].
