Mary Elizabeth Slade was born in Wainfleet, Ontario on January 29, 1881. She was the daughter of Daniel Slade and his wife Annie.
At the time of the 1881 Canada Census, Daniel, Annie, William, Lottie, Jane, Annie, Daniel, Mary, and Martha Slade were listed as living in Wainfleet, Ontario[1].
At the time of the 1891 Canada Census, Daniel, Annie, William, Lottie, Frances, Annie, Daniel, Mary, and Martha Slade were listed as living in Welland, Ontario[2].
At the time of the 1901 Canada Census, Daniel Sr, Annie, and Mary E Slade were listed as living in Humberstone, Ontario[3].
Mary married Jesse Doan in Welland on August 20, 1902[4].
At the time of the 1921 Canada Census, Milton, Mary, Reginald, Lenard, Lawrence, Irene, Eleanor, and Geneva Doan were listed as living in Humberstone, along with Mary's widowed mother Annie Slade[5].
Mary died on April 1, 1965, and was buried in Overholt Cemetery, Port Colborne, Ontario[6].
