Biography

The son of John Slater and Alvira (Day) Slater, Ira was born in Constantia around 1851.[1][2][3][4] He married Martha (1856-1890) in New York sometime between 1870 and 1875, when the entire family migrated to Michigan, settling in Gilford Township in Tuscola County.[5]

Martha passed away in 1890 and Ira remarried, marrying Adell Melissa (Slater) Cubbitt (1860-), the daughter of John Blair Slater and Mary A. Sherman, in Pontiac, Michigan on July 6,1891.[6] She had been married previously to George Cubbitt, and had divorced.

Ira passed away around 1899.
