William Slaton was born in Kentucky.
William Young Slaton was born 4 February 1837, in Hopkins County, Kentucky, United States. He was the son of James Slaton and Elizabeth "Chella" Bailey. In the 1850 U.S. census, William, age 13, was recorded living with his parents and siblings in District No. 1, Hopkins, Kentucky. [1]
He was married 27 October 1858, in Hopkins County, Kentucky, to Margaret E. Littlepage.[2]
