DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:
Slatton-123 and Slaton-459 I’m not sure they represent the same person because: I don’t know if these are a match, although anything is possible, need a little more research
I have no problem with this merge rejection. My spidey sense tells me that this is she, but I agree that this is a house of cards in my files. However, I would be very careful about citing anything on Find A Grave other than the memorial itself, because the family links have no structure for citation, which is how we got the Elizabeth Spearman and Elizabeth Cartee mems as both daughters of William and Sarah (Honey) Slatton. Not to mention that memorial stones not contemporary with death are very suspect (my ancestor was eleven when she married by 3x gr gf, acc to her "modern" gravestone, when she was more like eighteen.)
Note that H M Jones's gravestone at FAG mem shows neither Henry nor Manning, only H. M., yet the creator of the mem "filled that in" with no explanation.
