Cecil Leslie Slattery was born on 23 February 1922 in Dubbo, New South Wales. He was the son of Michael Edward Slattery and Beatrice Susan Grimshaw.^[1]

On 23 January 1942, Cecil married Lillian Mary "Peg" Collins in Canowindra, New South Wales.^[2]

Cecil passed away on 20 February 2004 in Forbes, New South Wales, aged 81. He was buried in Canowindra Cemetery, Canowindra, Cabonne Shire, New South Wales.^[3]
