Biography

Nancy Jane (on some records the spelling is Nancey Jane) was the third child of eleven born to Jacob Slaughter and Elizabeth Parham Howard Slaughter. She was born in Roxboro, NC in 1843.

Nancy had at least one child, Zadok born in 1880. According to family historian, Michael T. Slaughter, Zadok's father was rumored to be Wiley Mangum Clayton, who was possibly married to another woman at the time of Zadok's birth. Nancy's father, Jacob Slaughter, apparently adopted Zadok. Some of the records available at family search indicate this adoption.

Nancy died in Allensville NC where she was living with her son Zadok.
