Biography

Dessa was born in 1891 in Arkansas, the daughter of Sterling Hartwell Slaughter and Ida Elizabeth Owenby Slaughter. In the 1910 census her name is listed as Idessa, but she went by the name Dessa after that time.

She married Edgar J. Browne in 1911. They had one daughter Patty Browne.

Dessa passed away in 1963 in FLorida, at the age of 71.
