Biography
Robert Slaughter was born in 1851 in Swanton Abbot, Norfolk, England to John Slaughter and Julia (Buck) Slaughter. His birth was registered in Aylsham, Norfolk in the first quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Buck.[1]
In 1851 Robert Slaughter (age 0) lived at Low Common in Swanton Abbotts with his father John (24, Ag Lab), mother Julia (35), sister Ann (5), and brother John (3).[2]
Robert Slaughter, son of John, a labourer, & Julia (late Buck), residing at Scottow, was christened on 25 Mar 1855 in Scottow, Norfolk - his younger brother William was christened on the same day.[3][4]
In 1861 Robert Slaughter (age 10) lived at Workhouse Corner in Scottow with his father John (33, Agricultural Labourer), mother Julia (44), and four siblings: Anne (15), John (12), William (8, Scholar), and Charlotte (4).[5]
Robert Slaughter married Mary Youngman in 1871. The marriage was registered in Morpeth, Northumberland in the last quarter of the year.[6]
Robert and Mary had ten children:

In 1881 Robert Slaughter (age 29, Pork Butcher) lived in Tunstead, Norfolk with his wife Mary (28) and four sons: John (6, Scholar), William (3), Robert (2), and an infant [George] (0), as well as nurse Elizabeth Mount (52, Nurse S M S).[7] Their daughter Julia (8) was staying with Robert's parents in Worstead, Norfolk.
In 1891 Robert Slaughter (age 39, Coal Miner) lived in Bedlington, Northumberland with his wife Mary (38) and seven children: John (16, Coal Miner), William (13, Scholar), Robert (12, Scholar), George (10, Scholar), Charlotte (7, Scholar), Charles (4), and Samuel (2).[8]
In 1901 Robert Slaughter (age 50, Coalminer) lived at Welbeck Terrace in Pegswood, Northumberland with his wife Mary (48) and five children: Robert (22, Coalminer), George (20, Coalminer), Charlotte (17), Charles (14, Driver in Coalmine), and Samuel (12).[9]
Robert's wife passed away in 1910.
In 1911 Robert Slaughter (age 62, Coal Miner Hewer) lived in Pegswood with his son Samuel (22, Coal Miner Hewer) and daughter Charlotte (27).[10]
Robert Slaughter passed away in 1935, aged 84 years. His death was registered in Morpeth in the third quarter of the year.[11]
